Friends
We hear so much about science and technology today, with their modernistic trends and their ever implied scope for development. But, let us pause to think that whether all this is worth the pain and effort if it fails to satiate the basic ethical and moral principles on which the human society survives.
A week back, there was much ado about Science creating life in its entirity in a petri dish, in complete abeyance of the laws of nature. Many amongst us have welcomed the development heralding it as the victory of scientific prowess over the natural power.
True, that such development holds in it its wake a plethora of issues that may help human existence, but again the fundamental question of ethical conduct arises. Who indeed would be answerable if this leads to some Frankenstein that may annihilate the human society!!
Friends, surely such experiments tantamount to playing fiddle with nature, hoping to fetter it in human bounds. Let us not forget that we can delve and know for ourselves only that that is revealed by nature, and nothing more. We are indeed threatening our own existence than help it with such so called scientific breakthroughs.
Indeed, time has come to consider the ethical responsibility that entails our actions as proponents of Science. Alas, that our education system fails to take care of this.
Friends, I sincerely hope that we as the Future of Science would delve into harmony that governs the natural world, than try to adapt it not so much for our need than our greed.
That Nature is self sufficed to provide for itself and evolve to its present needs, must be appreciated and human interference in its sphere of action should be mitigated, ans same must be the premise for our actions for a better tomorrow.
